Privacy policy

Bright Eyes & Sunflower is a small, independent studio, and your trust means a great deal to us. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have kept it short and plain, because that is how it should be.

What we collect

The newsletter. When you sign up, we store your email address, the date you joined, and a scrambled, one-way version of your network address that helps us catch spam. It cannot be turned back into the original, and we do not store your raw IP address.

Orders. When you place an order, we collect what we need to fulfill it: your name, shipping and billing address, email, and the items you bought. Your card details are entered directly with our payment processor and are never stored on our systems.

Nothing extra. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics. We collect only what we need to run the studio.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• send the newsletter you asked for,
• process, pack, and ship your orders,
• reply to your questions,
• protect the site from fraud and abuse, and
• meet our legal and tax obligations.

That is the whole list. We will not use it for anything else without telling you first.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only with the trusted services that help us run the studio, and only as much as each one needs to do its job:

• Supabase stores newsletter signups and order records.
• Cloudflare hosts the site and helps keep it secure.
• Stripe processes payments. Your card details go straight to Stripe and stay with Stripe. You can read Stripe's privacy policy for more.
• Shipping carriers receive your name and address to deliver your order.
• Resend delivers the newsletter.

Each of these handles your information under its own privacy terms.

Cookies

We use only the small files a website needs to work, such as keeping your shopping bag and keeping the site secure. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click through. If we ever add analytics, we will update this page first.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising. Ever.

How long we keep it

We keep your newsletter signup until you unsubscribe. We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and then we remove them.

How we protect it

The site runs over a secure, encrypted connection, payments are handled by a PCI-compliant processor, and access to your information is limited to what is needed to run the studio. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect you.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. You can also ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@brighteyesandsunflower.com. We will always do our best to help.

Children's privacy

This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Links to other places

We link to a few other places, such as our Instagram. Once you leave Bright Eyes & Sunflower, the privacy terms of those sites apply, not ours.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. For anything significant, we will say so clearly.
